Rules & Engagement Guidelines

THIS IS A LEAVE NO TRACE SPACE
PARTICIPATE AS IF YOU WERE IN YOUR OWN HOME
We engage with others according to the following principles –

Civic Responsibility
We value civil society. The community who live and work at POD assume responsibility for the social and public welfare and endeavour to communicate civic responsibilities to all who participate in the project.

Participation
Our community is committed to a radically participatory ethic. We believe that transformative change whether in the individual or in society, can occur only through the medium of deeply personal participation. We achieve being through doing. Everyone is invited to work. Everyone is invited to play. We make the world real through actions that open the heart.

Radical Self Reliance
POD encourages the individual to discover, exercise and rely on his or her inner resources.

Self-Expression
Radical self-expression arises from the unique gifts of an individual. The individual or a collaborating group can determine its content. It is offered as a gift to others and in this spirit, the giver must respect the rights and liberties of the community and its vision. And visa versa the community respects the individual or collaborating groups contribution.

Communal Effort
Our community values creative co-operation and collaboration. We strive to produce and protect social networks, public spaces, works of art and methods of communication that support such actions furthering the values and vision of the POD TRUST.

Being present
Being present is, in many ways, an important value in our culture. We seek to overcome barriers that stand between us and a recognition of our inner selves, the reality of those around us, participation in society, and contact with a natural world. No idea can substitute for this experience.

Sharing POD Culture
As a self-reliant community, we believe the responsibility of spreading our culture lies with each and every one of us. All of us are custodians of our culture – when the opportunity presents itself, we pass knowledge on.

Consent
Respect the autonomy of the individual: every person has the right to make decisions about their own body, property and personal space.
Consent is an explicitly communicated, reversible mutual agreement made when all parties are capable of making that decision. The ‘yes’ may or not be verbal, but it has to be unambiguous and voluntary. Consent for one act does not imply consent for other acts, and consent given once does not mean that consent is given every time.
No always means no!

Leave No Trace
Our community respects the environment. We clean up after ourselves. We are committed to leaving the environment where we gather to work or play in a better state than when we found it.
