Karen Zoid

This year, Tankwa Drome III is honored to announce the presence of the immensely talented Karen Zoid and her extraordinary band as our esteemed headliners.

As the cherished Queen of Rock in South Africa, Karen Zoid stands as a truly unique artist, with an illustrious career spanning two decades and boasting nine studio albums, along with the esteemed reality show Republic of Zoid Africa.

With numerous accolades and notable achievements under her belt, Karen’s voice, akin to whiskey over marble, has graced hits such as “Small Room,” “Airplane Jane,” and the renowned duet “Toe Vind ek Jou” recorded alongside Francois Van Coke. It comes as no surprise that she has shared the stage with exceptional talents like John Mayer, Metallica, Seal, UB40, and Annie Lennox!

This year, we are delighted to bring her to Tankwa, where she will captivate you under the starry sky with an extraordinary performance on the ancient slopes of the enchanting gorge.

As Suid-Afrika se alombeminde Queen of Rock is Karen ‘n kunstenaar soos min, met ‘n loopbaan wat strek oor twee dekades en nege studio albums, en natuurlik die gesogte realitietsprogram Republiek van Zoid Afrika.

Met vele Mediaveertjies en ander noemenswaardige pluimpies in haar hoed is sy die whisky-oor-marmer stem agter treffers soos Small Room, Aeroplane Jane, en Toe Vind ek Jou (opgeneem saam met Francois Van Coke). Dis geen wonder dat sy al die verhoog gedeel het met groot geeste soos John Mayer, Metallica, Seal, UB40 and Annie Lennox nie!

Hierdie jaar bring ons haar Tankwa toe om jou te betower onder die sterre in ‘n uitsonderlike optrede in die oeroue hange van die magiese kloof.

For over two decades, Ricus Nel has firmly entrenched himself in the hearts of South Africans with his rugged country-rock vocals and dexterous fingers that effortlessly glide across a wide array of musical instruments. His compelling songwriting prowess is as impressive as his instrumental skills.

With national chart-toppers like “Boerepompie,” “Ploeg Jy,” “Bokkies Jag,” and “Hardekole,” Ricus’s music has resonated deeply, amassing over 150 million digital platform streams. Furthermore, his live performances consistently sell out, cementing his status as a beloved artist.

Throughout his remarkable career, Ricus Nel has remained a powerful force in the music industry, captivating audiences with his raw talent and leaving an indelible mark on the South African music scene.

Each year, we eagerly present an aspiring artist with the chance to astound our cherished Dreamers with their unique talent. This year, we proudly introduce PEACE. With their two debut singles, “Perspektief” and “Die Son,” currently making waves and garnering significant acclaim, their awe-inspiring voices have left audiences utterly spellbound.

Ons bied elke jaar vir ‘n opkomende kunstenaar die geleentheid om ons geliefde Dromers te verras met hul kraakvars talent. Hierdie jaar is dit VREDE. Hulle eerste 2 enkelsnitte, Perspektief en Die Son geniet tans baie aandag, en hul ongelooflike stemme laat skares stomgeslaan.

Emile Swiegers

Emile Swiegers is a maestro of retro songwriting, whose voice effortlessly transcends the constraints of space and time. His guitar strumming prowess rivals that of Eric Clapton, while his captivating narratives have the power to envelop and captivate you. Emile’s Moedertaal EP has already made significant waves in the realm of Afrikaans music, leaving a lasting impression on its vast waters. As the sun sets over Tankwa, we eagerly anticipate experiencing his signature cross-pollination sound, seamlessly traversing the realms of folk, soul, and rhythm & blues.

Emile Swiegers is ‘n retro-liedjieskrywer met ‘n stem wat die grense van ruimte en tyd oorsteek. Hy tokkel die kitaar beter as Eric Clapton en sy stories trek jou in en vang jou vas. Sy Moedertaal EP het reeds groot kabbels gemaak op die waters van die Afrikaanse musiek-dam, en ons sien uit om sy kenmerkende kruisbestuiwing-klank wat huppel tussen folk, soul, en rhythm & blues onder die Tankwa-son aan te hoor.

Dassie

On previous occasions, Dassie delighted us with his down-to-earth charm, extraordinary voice, and an impressive repertoire that kept us enthralled late into the evening. In response to popular demand, he graces us once again this year, ensuring an unforgettable experience.

Dassie het ons op vorige geleenthede tot laat in die aand vermaak met sy plat-op-die-aarde geaardheid, besonderse stem en fantastiese repertoire. Hy keer hierdie jaar terug op spesiale aanvraag.

Indulge in a delightful culinary experience throughout the weekend at our cash food stall, offering a mouthwatering selection of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options for festival goers. Alternatively, attendees are more than welcome to bring their own food and drinks to the event. For those who prefer to prepare their own meals, POD 1 boasts a fully equipped kitchen facility.

‘n Kontant-kosstalletjie sal die hele naweek beskikbaar wees vir feesgangers om heerlike kos te bestel vir ontbyt, middagete en aandete.
Feesgangers is ook welkom om hulle eie kos en drank saam te bring. POD 1 het a volle toegeruste kombuis vir diegene wat sal verkies om hulle eie maaltye te voorsien.
